Graffiti Gone Global launches it’s first-ever satellite show, The Pop Up, a retrospective to the celebrated street and graffiti art exhibition that will be on display for six weeks at ArtCenter/South Florida. The abridged version of the show is slated for July 15 thru August 21.
The show launches with a reception on Saturday, July 16 from 7 to 10 p.m. at ArtCenter/South Florida (800 Lincoln Road at Meridian Avenue, Miami Beach). GGG presents The Pop Up is free and open to the public through August 21.
GGG presents The Pop Up celebrates international artists from previous GGG exhibitions during Art Basel Miami Beach and offers a first-hand look into the city of Miami’s landscape of local talent. Artists included are: Brazilian-based Flip (GGG participant 2008 – 2010), Sesper (GGG participant 2010) and Smael (GGG participant 2009); along with local South Florida artists Tes One (GGG participant 2010) and Bask (GGG participant 2010).
“GGG goes beyond the notion of graffiti,” says Bokovza. “The show provides a platform to take the rogue art form to the established realm of contemporary visual culture in an exhibition space. With each project we do, we watch the artistic growth of this medium and it’s phenomenal.”
